Ingrid Canady, Director of the State Education Resource Center (SERC), speaks on the racial equity professional development work in schools she leads through this quasi public organization. Involved in this work for decades, she discusses the fundamental importance of educators of all cultures and races learning about their own identities and perspectives that influence how they show up in the classroom and with students. She also speaks about culturally responsive teaching, and the importance of focusing on the whole child, circumstances and community rather than only examining behavior.
