Tasha Hosendove

La Challe Renee, 2018

Tasha Hosendove
Step UP
New London, CT

Tasha Hosendove shares about the positive and affirming methods she used as a teacher in a school her Grandmother started. She shares on her family's commitment to education, the opportunities her Grandmother fought to give her as a Black girl and woman, and how the skills she's able to give her son such as a head start in learning, confidence in himself, and a grounding in Black brilliance in history, are things that every child deserve to have.

Note: the first portion of Tasha's recording was damaged, so her story jumps right into the middle, and sadly we miss more of the details about her grandmother's schools. There is so much goodness in the second half of this story, please forgive the abrupt starting point.
